 Master of Public Health

Future Plans: After graduation, Ms. Ireland will continue her work as a continuous improvement consultant for Intermountain Health. She feels the health care system, as we know it, is broken and this was exemplified by the COVID-19 pandemic. Completing her MPH has given her a better overall understanding of the issues health care workers face moving forward and how best to address from a public health, not just business operations, perspective. She believes having a strong knowledge of Public Health fundamentals will be key to driving improvement in quality and costs of care moving forward.

 Sarah Stackley

 Master of Public Health

Future Plans: Ms. Stackley is planning on pursuing a nursing degree with the goal of joining the CDC's Epidemic Intelligence Service. Currently, she works for the largest public health department in Minnesota as a community health worker. Her team addresses infectious disease outbreaks in the community, specifically those impacting marginalized populations such as LGBTQ, those experiencing homelessness, and people who use drugs. They test and treat STIs, perform outreach care coordination, and administer vaccines while also supporting other public health programs as "boots on the ground", when needed. She has been able to grow into this new position using what she learned in MSU's MPH program.
