MSU Undergraduate Sharing of Credits

MSU Undergraduate Sharing of Credits

The Master of Public Health program welcomes eligible MSU undergraduate students to share credits with our program. The sharing of credits provides an opportunity for academically talented undergraduate students to enroll in a maximum of nine graduate credits while completing the last two years of their bachelor's degree program. These shared credits can count toward their undergraduate degree and then, upon acceptance to an MSU graduate degree program, the credits can also be counted toward the graduate degree.

  • Undergraduates must have completed a minimum of 56 credits toward their undergraduate degree to be eligible to share credits.
  • Undergraduates interested in sharing credits with the Master of Public Health may complete an application to the MPH program once they've completed their undergraduate degree (students can apply during their final semester of their undergraduate program with the understanding they cannot be fully admitted until their undergraduate degree has been conferred).
  • Completion of the nine credits during undergrad coursework does not guarantee admission to the MPH program.
  • Undergraduate students pursuing this option must request overrides into the MPH coursework they would like to take.
  • We recommend undergraduates select from our core or foundational courses (sans PH 892 and PH 893) to use as shared credits. We highly recommend reaching out to our academic advisor, Twynette Mixon, to discuss options.

An undergraduate student may contact the MPH academic office with any questions regarding sharing credits.
