Dr. Darline K. El Reda is an accomplished academic leader and private-sector administrator. She serves as the Director of the Master of Public Health Program and Associate Chair of Education.

An applied public health practitioner, Dr. El Reda has over 20 years of combined experience working in both public (city, county, and state health departments, and federal public health agencies) and private (health insurance payer and provider) sectors. Her expertise centers on using administrative claims data to design, implement, and evaluate population health and value-based care programs. 

Dr. El Reda publishes on diverse topics, including infectious disease outbreaks, maternal and child health, patient-centered medical homes, immunization, obesity, and cancer, with her most recent field research focusing on menstrual health and hygiene in Ghana. In her teaching role at MSU, she has taught numerous public health courses on topics such as Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Informatics, Poverty, Research Methods, and more. 

She earned her Master of Public Health degree from California State University at Long Beach and her DrPH from the University of Texas at Houston and completed her postdoctoral training with the Epidemic Intelligence Service at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
