Culminating Experience Coordinator

Dr. Sharia K. Phillips serves as Culminating Experience coordinator for the Online Master of Public Health program in the Charles Stewart Mott Department of Public Health at Michigan State University. She oversees the Applied Practice Experience and Integrated Learning Experience, mentors MPH students, develops community partnerships, and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses.

Dr. Phillips has more than 30 years of experience in higher education, including teaching and student success. Her scholarship focuses on public health workforce preparation, advising, and mentoring. She is a co-author of recent publications in Frontiers in Public Health, including "Refocusing Public Health Training on Effective Leadership and Communication Skills to Increase Efficacy" (2025) and "Beyond the Curriculum: A Comprehensive Advising Approach to Strengthen MPH Students' Professional Readiness" (2026).
