Biography:
Lydia Sanchez Merritt, MAIT has more than 20 years of experience in business, education, and technology industries. Following an associate’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in business administration marketing, advertising, and promotion, Mrs. Merritt sought out an internship in instructional technology and marketing at St. Clair County Community College. Upon completion of the internship, Mrs. Merritt was offered a position with the college as the University Center liaison. The position, which advised students, faculty, and staff in the transition to four-year universities, grew with the addition of teaching early college, student development, computer information systems, marketing on/off campus programs, and instructional technology and integration support for faculty.
Mrs. Merritt continued her education with a Master of Arts degree in education-instructional technology. Prior to coming to MSU, she was the training and integration specialist lead at Henry Ford Health System in the Clinical Systems Research and Integration department, teaching business office applications, SharePoint Designer, and EPIC EMR to physicians and surgeons. She has been teaching the Computers in Healthcare course for the University of Michigan-Flint Nursing program for the last six years.
Currently, Mrs. Merritt is responsible for the day-to-day management of online courses for Michigan State University's Master of Public Health program, assisting and advising faculty, providing curriculum, course design/development and instructional technology support.
