MPH and Graduate Certificate Tuition

Financial assessment is often paramount in a student’s decision to apply, enroll, and remained enrolled in a graduate program. In an effort to equally serve our in-state and out-of-state students, the Master of Public Health program does not charge a higher tuition rate based on residency (tuition rates are consistent among students who are Michigan residents, non-Michigan residents, and international residents).

University Taxes and Fees

In addition to program tuition rates, the university assesses taxes for the FM radio tax, COGS (Council of Graduate Students) tax, and State News tax. Tax assessments can be found for each semester on the Tuition Rates by Semester page of the Office of the Controller. All MPH students are considered "Residents" for the purposes of that page.

Below is a table of easily avoidable late fees assessed by the university. To avoid paying late fees, please reference the university’s Academic Calendar for registration, enrollment, and payment deadlines.

Fee	Cost	Explanation
Late Enrollment Fee	$50-$100	Students may be subject to late enrollment fees if not registered by the enrollment deadlines specified in the university's Academic Calendar. Late enrollment fees are waived for newly admitted and readmitted students.
Late Payment Fee	$30	A late payment charge will be assessed on any past due student account.

Please Note: The university reserves the right to make changes in the types, structures, and rates for fees, deposits, tuition, and housing. Every effort will be made to give as much advance notice as possible.

Financial Aid

Prospective students eligible for financial aid are encouraged to research their options by visiting the MSU Office of Financial Aid website. Information specific to graduate students can be found on the Office of Financial Aid Graduate Student page .

The Office of Financial Aid provides financial aid advisors to help students through the process of obtaining aid, including completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Financial aid questions should be referred to the Office of Financial Aid by calling 517-353-5940.

Assistantships and Scholarships

The Master of Public Health program has limited assistantship and scholarship opportunities. Current students are notified when assistantship opportunities become available. Prospective students can begin researching alternate funding opportunities through the websites below.
